'The ultimate garden party with a soundtrack to match'

Long before it was a popular annual music festival and brand name, we began writing for So Frenchy So Chic when it was a best-selling CD compilation. The brainchild of expat extraordinaire, Jean-Francois Pontiuex, this yearly release has introduced contemporary pop and alternative music from France to hundreds of thousands of Australians.

We began by writing a press release for the 2009 So Frenchy So Chic release. Since then we have written press releaseses for several more of Cartell Music's compilations and local releases of albums by such luminaries as Nouvelle Vague, Emille Simon, Melanie Pain and Lou Doillon.

As the brand's focus shifted from albums to a music festival, we have been on hand to write addtitional pieces of copy such as brochures and websites. Whether interviewing popstars in Paris via Skype or crafting tasting notes for gourmet hampers, it's always a pleasure to write for So Frenchy.

Because the album is the “unofficial soundtrack of the French Film Festival” we were soon introduced to the Alliance Francaise. From 2011 to 2016 we wrote the festival's  popular pocket guide, summarising around 50 films per year. That’s a lot of Depardieux.

Over the years we have written for various other film festivals as well as theatre companies and cultural organisations. Plus a few muso mates in need of a press release here and there.
